I just love these gorgeous fabrics depicting all sorts of typically Canadian icons. I am currently working on a set of cushion covers using the animal and maple leaf designs. There will be more variations to come.

Lots of really fun and colorful projects are all lined up ready for action. Something for everyone from all kinds of animals, to Canadian themes, to music and coffee lovers, and not forgetting our tech friends. Each fabric that you see in this photo is actually on top of a stack of coordinating fabrics, not just one! I will post photos of each theme as it becomes a work in progress, and finally a completed set, available for purchase.

Finally Spring has arrived so I got to wear a dress again for my day out at Heritage Park’s Festival of Quilts. This lightweight linen dress is lined and great for layering in Calgary’s changeable weather.

I recently participated in a quilting workshop by Gyleen Fitzgerald as part of the Festival of Quilts at Heritage Park. It was a truly amazing experience and I learned so much my head was just about exploding with exciting new ideas by the end. And this is what I made - based on her “Tumbling Blocks” pattern. I am going to turn it into a cushion.

I am becoming quite fond of this asymmetric gray linen jacket as it’s coming out to play quite often. This time you can see the surprise silver leaf lining.

The weather is still being uncooperative and chilly, so I dug out this corduroy jacket that I made over 20 years ago! It has a slightly shiny, velvety feel and still fits great.

Today, I dug out this teal burnout velvet dress in honor of visiting the Christian Dior exhibit at the Glenbow Museum. I love the fit of this dress, but it does have a bit of a habit of shedding bits of sparkly velvet.

I’m becoming quite fond of this asymmetric gray linen jacket. The zipper is hidden under a strip of ribbon and there is a surprise waiting inside, but I’ll save that for another day!

This blouse is full of darts - 12 of them in total - and was inspired by taking a darts workshop with the wonderful Kristi Woo.

Just chilling out on Mother’s Day in my fave dressing gown and PJs, sipping a wonderful Lavender Earl Grey Tea.
